Bedminster Down School

Africa Trip 2018

We are delighted to be embarking on a challenging school expedition to Kenya with African Adventures in July 2018. We have 19 students signed up for the trip and the group are hard at work fundraising towards their trip costs.

African Adventures gives people from all around the UK the chance to enjoy volunteering experiences in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar with their locally run and led partner projects. African Adventures provides humanitarian, financial and developmental support to 21 educational partner projects, helping to improve the lives of 20,000 young people, through the provision of schooling and food. Through this trip, our students will have the opportunity to embark on a life-changing journey and contribute to making a tangible difference at the projects by helping with teaching, vital building work and sports coaching. African Adventures shows absolute commitment to its partner projects and firmly believes that volunteering is a two-way street which greatly benefits not only the children in Africa but also the volunteers who travel with them.

Frankie from African Adventures said; “We are so excited that Bedminster Down School has chosen to embark on an African Adventure; the group has an incredible journey ahead. Students who take part in school expeditions like this are really opening their eyes to the wider world. Not only will they have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different culture and way of life, but we are confident that they will grow as individuals, learn to work together as a team with their peers and develop skills that simply cannot be learnt inside the classroom.”
