What is CEIAG?

Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance.

What does it mean?

It is designed to ensure that students have access to information about the future career options available to them and know how to access them.

Does BDS have a careers advisor?

Yes, BDS has teamed up with NEWS Independent Careers Services. Our careers advisor is Miss Hardcastle. She delivers 1-1 careers interviews with years 9-11 and is available Wednesdays and Fridays.

What types of things of CEIAG help can I get from the school?

The school helps with anything to do with your future plans or career. Some the assistance include:

I don’t know what I want to do when I am older; can BDS help me?

Yes. Feel free to talk with your tutor or Head of House about arranging a careers interview. You may also find the Career Pilot website and the Buzz test in the “Useful links” section helpful.

Who else can help me?

Your first port of call in school should be your Tutor. They know you best and should be able to give you some good advice.

Where can I get impartial careers advice on line?

Try Career Pilot. A really useful site that has loads of help, advice and even an app to put on your phone!
